We’re flying in Silicon Valley’s finest on a private jet
Thanks to the support of Startupfest’s platinum partner Quebecor, we’re bringing some outstanding speakers from Silicon Valley to Montreal on a private jet–and we’re giving one deserving startup the opportunity to ride along with them. After carefully reviewing applicants from around the world, we selected a winner!
WHO’S ON THE JET?
Tim O’Reilly
is the founder and CEO of O’Reilly Media. He publishes books, runs conferences, invests in early-stage startups, urges companies to create more value than they capture, and tries to change the world by spreading and amplifying the knowledge of innovators. Tim is a partner at early-stage venture firm O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures and is on the boards of Maker Media, Code for America, PeerJ, Civis Analytics and PopVox.
Alexis Ohanian
is a startup founder and investor in San Francisco, Calif. He’s perhaps best known as the co-founder of Reddit, a platform for online communities to share links and have discussions. He loves hummus, the Washington Redskins, the Brooklyn Nets and his cat. His mother always told him he was special.
Kara Swisher
is the executive editor of Re/code, host of the Re/code Decode podcast and co-executive producer of the Code Conference. Swisher co-founded former Re/code and Code owner Revere Digital and, before that, co-produced and co-hosted The Wall Street Journal’s “D: All Things Digital,” with Mossberg.
Dave McClure
is a venture capitalist and founding partner at 500 Startups, an internet startup seed fund and incubator program in Mountain View, Calif. He likes to hang out with entrepreneurs, and occasionally invest in startups foolish enough to let him. He has been an investor in more than 250 companies including Twilio, SendGrid, TaskRabbit, SlideShare, Mashery, CreditKarma, KISSmetrics and MakerBot, among others.
Ooshma Garg
is the Founder and CEO of Gobble, that has received over $12M in funding from Silicon Valley veterans including Trinity Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz, along with founders and executives from PayPal, LinkedIn, Google and Facebook. Ooshma was named to Fortune’s 2011 Top NextGen Female Entrepreneurs. She was also named to Forbes’ Top 30 Innovators Under 30 in 2012 and Inc. Magazine’s 30 Under 30.
Marty Weiner
is Reddit’s current CTO and previous founding engineer at Pinterest. In his spare time he enjoys advising startups, building R2D2s and trying to recover the Ring of Power from those thieving little hobbitses.

Pamela Hadfield – HelloMD
Pamela Hadfield is Co Founder of HelloMD the leading digital healthcare platform for medical cannabis patients. Pamela has been an entrepreneur and UX Designer working in and around the Valley and San Francisco for the past 20 years. HelloMD is Pamela’s third startup venture and and one that the NYT recently stated “is at the forefront of a new trend in Silicon Valley: The Cannabis Tech Startup.” Other than thinking about cannabis she loves hanging out with her enormous dog Juno, her 3 kids and her Co Founder Mark Hadfield. Pamela also enjoys yoga and hiking with her big dog as the sun comes up.

“THE FINE PRINT”
No Purchase or Payment Necessary to Enter or Win
Eligibility: Contest open to anyone with a valid passport and necessary travel documents for entry into Canada. Must be 18 years or older. Must answer a skill testing question. Startupfest is NOT responsible for travel to San Francisco, accommodation, or return travel back to SFO. Flight is one-way from SFO to YUL, July 13th, 2016.
Promotion Period: Is displayed in the contest application.
How to Enter: Entrants who are eligible visit https://2018.startupfestival.com/private-jet-2016/ during the Promotion Period and enter using the instructions provided on the contest application.
Winner Selection: The potential winner will be selected on the ending date (as noted in the contest application) from among all the eligible entries received. If a winner does not email us back (reply to our email) within 48 hours, another winner will be chosen. Another winner will be chosen (with 24 hours to respond) until a winner responds and accepts their prize. Selection solely at the discretion of the startupfest team. We reserve the right to refuse access to the jet for anyone, for any reason whatsoever, without recourse.
Prizes: Winners will receive confirmation of flight info prior to July 12th. Winner will also get one of 12 pitching slots onstage at Startupfest 2016, July 14th. Pitch includes 5 minutes onstage, and the opportunity to win the title of Best Onstage Pitch (non-monetary prize).
