Dave McClure is a Venture Capitalist & Founding Partner at 500 Startups, a global venture capital seed fund and startup accelerator based in Silicon Valley with ~$250M in assets under management. 500 Startups has invested in over 1,500 companies across more than 50 countries around the world, including: Credit Karma, GrabTaxi (now Grab), Twilio, Udemy, Ipsy, TalkDesk, Intercom, MakerBot (acq’d by SSYS for $400M), Wildfire (acq’d by GOOG for $350M), and Viki (acq’d by Rakuten for $200M).

Dave is a self-proclaimed geek, investor, former coder & entrepreneur, occasional blogger and internet marketing nerd. He’s a tech veteran with over 25 years in Silicon Valley and previously managed early-stage investments for Founders Fund (2008-2009) and also led the Facebook fbFund incubator (2009). After leaving PayPal in 2004, he was an investor/advisor in a number of startups including Bix.com (acq’d by YHOO), Mint.com (acq’d by INTU), Jambool (acq’d by GOOG), TeachStreet (acq’d by AMZN), SlideShare (acq’d by LNKD), and Mashery (acq’d by INTC). Before PayPal, he founded Aslan Computing, which was acquired by Servinet in 1998.

Dave was named on the Forbes 2016 Midas List as one of the top tech investors globally.
